The obligatory "hello world" ... Again

From Painter to Blogger

Hi there,

I'm Mike, formally speaking Michael Reckhaus ( just to give a hint where the nick "Rockhouse" might originate from, and now guess my favorite style of music) - Hobbyist miniature painter and diorama builder ... And now "Blogger"?

"How dare you to be a blogger with a "D" grade in language and just a nerdy hobby?"

It's more a project diary - with my future me as target audience.

Every project from any hobbyist start with an idea, face challenges or even complete turnarounds.

The final pictures never cover all the emotions that went into the piece nor the curses that the poor toy had to endure.

And that's what I'd like to achieve. A project diary, WIPs, written down curses and the joy when all turns out as expected - or just turns out as finished.

So let's see if it works for upcoming projects.

Additionally I'll post older finished projects over time. Maybe also workshop or event visits - Let's see where it'll end up.

A fresh restart

Some might notice that this reads familiar. yep, I made a fresh restart on a new URL. I learned tons about structure and image optimization. Now this meant alot of changes and re-uploads on the old blog. Thus I took the chance to restart with a new URL. I removed the "miniatures" in the name. It's just too limiting. I do busts, dioramas, gaming stuff, digtial painting or scribbling - who knows what I'll add in the future. So with just mike-rockhouse I'm not limited to anything.

I'll start to migrate posts and structure day by day. There is quite some work on image optimization that I'll have to crunch through. Stay tuned.
